Marc Anthony has officially filed for divorce from Jennifer Lopez.
Anthony filed divorce docs on Monday, eight months after the the pair announced their separation. The star couple were married for 7 years and have four-year-old twins, Max and Emme.
In June both stated “We have decided to end our marriage. This was a very difficult decision. We have come to an amicable conclusion on all matters. It is a painful time for all involved and we appreciate the respect of our privacy at this time.”
Anthony cited “irreconcilable differences” in the divorce filing and requested joint legal and physical custody of the twins. He is seeking to deny Lopez spousal support.
Since announcing their split last summer, the couple has worked together on reality TV talent show, “Q’Viva! The Chosen,” which they co-produce. Anthony has called their post-split work dynamic “very Sonny and Cher.”Jennifer Lopez and Marc Anthony dated briefly in the late 1990s before his first marriage to former Miss Universe Dayanara Torres and her second marriage to backup dancer Cris Judd. The pair remained friends, working together in music videos.
The couple reunited in 2004 while recording a duet together for Lopez’s 2004 film “Shall We Dance.” Lopez and Anthony quietly married in June of that year, only four days after Anthony finalized his divorce with his ex-wife with whom he shared two children.They performed ”Escapemonos” at the Grammy Awards in 2005.
